our weekend

well saturday ryan and i got up and went to hallmark for webkinz extravaganza day. then we went lowe's so he could build. he had fun. but the best part was going to another little shop in milford for their webkinz extravaganza. they had games set up outside. before we even went in the store ryan won 3 full sized webkinz and a bookmark. he was so thrilled. so we went in to shop, i wanted to buy something from them since he had won so much. well he spent his money on another webkinz and i bought him and outfit for his webkinz that he has to earn. well we got 2 more free webkinz for spending 20 dollars. the spend 10 get a webkinz was going on at hallmark too, so he got 2 free webkinz there. later in the day we went to a couple more hallmarks and he won 2 more free webkinz and a mouse pad and another bookmark. he was in heaven!! the stores really did a great job with the games and stuff. he really had a blast! he ended up with like 15 webkinz!

we then went to kevin's aunt's house to have a birthday dinner for me and rita, kevin's mom. we actually had fun sitting around and talking. ryan had fun playing with their little dog and jumping on the trampoline.

I only lost 2 pounds this week but at least i am moving in the right direction! have a good week girls, we off to the gym.

this week

well i forgot to post that i lost 4 more pounds this week for a total of 20. 13 more to go until disney. i worked out this morning and did 45 minutes on the elliptical machine. i am making it longer each time. i am surprised that this has been relatively easy for me so far. i actually enjoy working out too. most of the time.

kevin's eye is doing pretty good. we won't know if it worked for a couple more weeks.

we now know that the bird nest with the 5 eggs, is a cardinal nest. I have pics of the mommy and the eggs but i will have to post them later. i haven't downloaded them and ryan took his camera to school.

today and this weekend i hope to move everything out of my kitchen and scrub the floors. also we plan to clean up the garage and get ready for the community yard sale.

that is about it. nothing much going on here.

Sam the Peanut Man

Here are pics from the circus Ryan's class put on yesterday. It was so cute. They all looked so cute. Ryan was Sam the Peanut man and had to sing a song with all the girls, it was awesome. He was also a well trained elephant. It was all great. The kids really enjoyed it!

Happy Earth Day

happy Earth Day everyone. what a beautiful Earth day it is. my hostas are coming up. and we have a bird nest in my roses that has 4 eggs in it. Ryan is thrilled with that. he climbs up and checks on them everyday, eventually the mommy bird is going to attack him.

i took Ryan's cans to be recycled today for Earth day. he had 36 pounds, he got $33.12. he is going to be thrilled.

Ryan's circus play is at school today. he was so excited this morning. if all the kids are like him they'll get nothing done today. i hope to be able to tape it and take pictures. but i am going by myself so it may not turn out so great. we'll see.

Prayer request

Teri little 10 week old grandson is very very sick. He has been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks and is on a ventilator, poor little guy they can't figure out what is wrong with him. It is getting very serious and everyone is getting nervous. Please pray for him. His name is Seonte (See-on-tay). He is so young! Teri went to visit him this weekend but I haven't gotten an update yet. Thanks girls!

this week in review

not much going on for a week that felt so busy. kevin's surgery of course. I got a lot of stuff on my big to do list finished, still have half the list to go.

Oh and Ryan's last billy bob tooth finally fell out!! we were all so happy, unfortunately not in time for picture day but oh well.

Mira turned 4 this week, on the 17th.

Ryan made through his first sleep over last night. i am so proud of him. he said he had tons of fun. he didn't go ot sleep until 3:30 am. he took a nap today so he is never going to sleep tonight but he was so tired, he couldn't keep his little eyes open! i think this was the last big hurtle for him to know he is totally over his separation anxiety! he is very proud of himself.

Kev and i did some shopping for ryan's birthday last night while he was gone and went to dinner. we had a nice night! we also got a new video camera, our old one has been in to be fixed 3 times this month and they can't get it fixed. so we had a replacement plan so we picked out a new one last night. i love it so far. kev loves that it tapes in high definition. i am glad we got it, i was so worried about not having it for ryan's play at school on tuesday.

here the answers to your questions... how did I scratch my eye, well it was stupid really. I was taking my contact out, i had a boo-boo on my thumb and raked it across my eye. OUCH!! but it feel much better today, yesterday really sucked!

ryan's party is going to be harry potter, i have thought about it and i think we are going to have broom races like in quiditch. other than that i'm not sure what else we are going to do.

the reason i said that stuff about allergies and cold medicine is because we finally figured out that ryan's separation anxiety was caused by an interaction from his allergy medicine and the cold medicine we were giving him for a horrible cold he had. it took a long time to convince ryan that it wouldn't happen again and give him the tools he needed to calm himself if he felt the fear coming on. he was more afraid of being afraid than anything.

kevin is doing well. he had his follow up today with the surgeon and he said everything looks good. his eye looks nasty but it will clear up in a few days. he has a lot of restrictions that are hard for him to obey. like no lifting, bending or and no sex...sad i know.

the reason for kevin surgeries....well he had a blood clot in his left eye and had a bunch of stuff done to fix it. he had many shots in his eye, while awake...ouch. they gave him steroids to keep the eye from clotting. that worked so they put a small pump in his eye to give him the steroids he need so he wouldn't have to get the shots. that worked, then the the steroids gave him a cataract. yes at less than 40 years old he had a cataract. well he had a surgery to remove that. well now the little pump they put in his eye gave him glaucoma. crazy i know. so he had lazer surgery to try to get his eye pressure dowm 10 days ago...that didn't work. so yesterday he had a tube stent put in his eye to keep his pressure down. let's pray this works because we can't keep putting the drops in everyday that make his eye hurt so badly and he can wear a contact or anything. it has been very painful for him and very expensive but hopefully it has been fixed!! that is it the whole long story.

long day

today has been a very long day. kevin had yet another eye surgery today. he went in to get his eye checked yesterday and they said come back in the morning the surgery had to be done NOW! So we all got up really early and took kev to the eye institute then ry to school and back to the institute to wait for kev. on top of everything else i didn't sleep well because i scratched my eye yesterday, it hurts so bad i can hardly keep it open. i have to wear my glasses which i hate!!!

i had my weigh in yesterday and lost another 5 pounds, not bad considering my 2 birthday desserts!! i would like to lose another 17 pounds before disney. we leave june 6th so who knows but i will give it a try. we all went to the gym yesterday, it was packed. ryan actually stayed in the kids area and even asked if we could go back tonight. my independent little boy is totally back now. he is never home. he has 3 different friends in the neighborhood so there is always someone out to play with. i am glad he is so happy again and all the anxiety is gone. who knew allergies and cold medicine could do so much damage. anyway it is over, thank you LORD!!!

i am sleepy and my eye hurts. i can't wait until bedtime! that's about it for now. chow peeps!

Our Weekend and Week to come

okay so here is a quick over view of our weekend. on friday, my birthday dad came and took me to breakfast, we went to IHOP, not good for the diet but great for the soul!! friday when kev got home from work, ry and kev gave me my presents. i got wonderful scrapbooking things and a special spatula for my stand mixer and a picture of my last gift. it is an amazing classics piece of figment, my favorite character from disney world. it will come as soon as it actually comes out at the end of the month. later dad, julia and david came over oh and mom. we had pizza and bread sticks for dinner, from larosa's yummy!! then cake and ice cream. i had cake but no ice cream. i think i put on a pound from being so bad on friday but hey it was my birthday.

saturday we kinda laid around then we went to long horns for my birthday dinner. oh it was so good. and i was so bad again. i had gotten a e-mail for a free birthday dessert, so of course i had a brownie sundae. well kev and i shared it.

sunday i have laid around all day. i started my 16th novel for the year.

this week other than just general house stuff, i have a lot to do. i have lots of sewing and embroidering to do. but first i have to try and put together my sewing area after the basement flood. i have lots or errands to do to start planning ry's birthday party. plus i have gone through lots of books to take to half priced books and trade in. plus tons of ry's toys i want to list on craig's list. i will be a busy girl this week.

Ramblings

Not a lot going around here. Nothing new. We have less then 60 days until Disney!! We are getting things ready and getting excited. We got our trader pins and are buying things to embroider, I need a few new t-shirts. And I am going to make a little trading thing just for kids. So we can trade to little kids in the parks and down town Disney.

Ryan got all O's on his report card. that stands for outstanding...instead of A's...weird I know. we are so proud of him!! he has worked very hard!

I started a "diet" 2 weeks ago. I am not following any rel diet, just cutting back a bit, NO POP, not eating to late and going to go to the gym. I have lost at least 11 pounds. My scale is crazy so I don't know for sure what I lost the first week, but have been using the scale at the gym now and I lost 9 pounds this past week. Yay me. i have never dieted or even cut back before. It is hard sometimes but I want to make a total life change, not just lose weight for an occasion and go right back up again. Let's hope I can do it.

To answer Crystal's question from a long time ago. Yes, Violet has calmed down, well for Violet. Compared to Mira no one is calm, she is basically in a coma most of them time. But Violet is old enough to stay out of her cage now, except when she wants to go in or is in trouble. I would like another one now. It isn't going to happen, my husband thinks I'm nuts. But now that neither of them is in the cage, I want a puppy. I guess it is kinda like when your baby moves out of the crib or gets potty trained, you want another baby. Or maybe I am trying to make up for the fact that I can't have what I really want...another baby. Honestly puppies are harder but for a much shorter time!! Only a couple of house training weeks. boy, this turned into a very long answer to has Violet calmed down. Sorry...I babble!!

Nothing else really going on. I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. It is going to get cold and rainy soon.

Transportation Day

Today was transportation day at Ryan's school. The Blackhawk Helicopter was of course the big hit at always. But they had tons of other vehicles there for the kids to get in and look around. One was a bit creepy....a hurse. The kids had no idea what it was. There was a firetruck, ambulance and another EMT unit thing, police car and motorcycle, a coast guard boat, a cement truck, tree trimming truck with the huge bucket that goes up, police horses, an old mustang and the channel 5 news helicopter. In fact the school and the blackhawk will be on the news tonight. I couldn't be there this morning so Ryan took his camera with him. He took completely different pictures than I would have. We have pictures of all the dials and seats, the helmet the "army Guys" wear, the camera from channel 5...lots of other stuff too. I was there in the afternoon to see everything and take pictures. But I missed Ryan's class going through everything. The man in the big bucket is Ryan's principle and the woman is his teacher from last year.
