Friday in Michigan

After the Nature Center we went back to the hotel where Ryan and Kevin went swimming and I had a nap. Then we went to a park to play while Kevin hit some more golf balls. Then the 3 of us went to dinner at a steakhouse and then to Putter's a mini golf place. It had animal theme so Ryan was thrilled. We also played more video games and won more silly prizes, Ryan was in heaven. We had a great day.

On Friday Kevin had to go to work so Ryan and I had the day to ourselves. We were going to go to a water park but decided to go to the Kalamazoo Nature Center instead. It was really a beautiful place with tons of stuff to do. Well Ryan loved it, I guess it wouldn't be as exciting for a lot of kids. We went hiking for about an hour and half, Ryan spent most of that time walking in the creek, I stayed on the path. They also had tons of exhibits showing Michigan wildlife. Ryan really loved that, some were stuffed animals and others were alive. They also had a butterfly house and barn where you could pet animals. The most exciting thing for Ryan was seeing 2 hawks up close and personnel, they had been injured and couldn't return to the wild. He just loves birds of prey, they also had an owl. He was just so happy being a total boy in the woods. It was a wonderful afternoon.

Our first day in Michigan we went to Godfather's pizza which we use to have in Norwood. Kevin was dying to have it, it was ok?? Then we went to a place with putt-putt and lazer tag, go-karts, bowling and video arcade. We played putt-putt and lazer tag then played some games. We really had a good time. Ryan did great at putt-putt, he only lost by 4. Only he and Kev played. I am the score keeper and photographer! I played the 2nd game of lazer tag and kicked their butts!! It was a lot of fun. We all had a very good evening! Oh we also went swimming at the hotel and the guys hit golf balls at a driving range. It was so cute to see Ryan play. He tries so hard, he actually does pretty well but he needs new clubs, his are too short. Kevin will take him soon to get some longer ones. Anyway that was our fun filled 1st night!

We're on the road again

We are on our way to Michigan. Kevin is going for work, so Ryan and I get a free mini vacation. We are up past St. Mary's now for all of you who know where that is. We should be to our hotel in Kalamazoo Michigan by about 2pm. We have come up here before. We really like it. Ryan and I are going to a water park thing tomorrow and then Saturday on our way home we are all going to the Binder Park Zoo which Ryan loved last time. They have Kangaroos and a tortoise the size of a VW Bug!

I will post later tonight from the hotel probably. Have a good day ladies!!

Cub World Fun With Son

We had so much fun at our Fun With Son weekend. Ryan got to do so many things he has never done before and over came a lot of fears! They played many group games where they had to work as a team to succeed the first night. They also had a welcoming camp fire where the staff did skits and sang songs, (boy did that bring back camp memories!) The next morning we were playing extreme kickball at 9am! It was parents against the kids, the kids got 6 outs and we got 3 outs. Also the cub scout got to tell the parent how they had to run the bases. One poor dad had to somersault around all 4 bases. It was hilarious and the kids LOVED it!! Ryan also got to shoot a BB gun and a bow and arrow! He really loved the archery and was really good at it! He hit the bulls eye 3 times! We stayed int he castle and had a room to ourselves. It was nice. They also had a fort and a miner's camp. We visited the miner's camp so the boys could play in the mine. We had few activities in the fort. They were all really well done! Ryan was really nervous about spending the night somewhere else. He watches TV at home until he falls asleep, at camp it was lights out at 10pm and then nothing! Well we kept our flashlights on and talked for a while and then he was out and slept great, I was very proud of him. I took 339 pictures, I was the unofficial pack photographer. I won't post them all...not to worry. They also went swimming, had a flag ceremony, an all faiths worship, meals, nature hike, a trading post to shop at and a lot of other things. It was a non stop weekend! Ryan loved it! We will definitely do it again!

Fun Friday!!

Ryan has been wanting to spend extra time with Daddy lately. When Kevin got home from work he told Ryan he'd take him to dinner and to do something fun. Well Ryan choose IHOP and putt-putt. They also invited me to go too. IHOP was so yummy!! We went to the Eastgate Adventure Golf. It is a beautiful place and they have go-carts. Ryan has never had interest in them before but wanted to try them. He was a little nervous at first, but he LOVED it. He rode first with me and then with Kevin. We really had a wonderful night.
